In July of 2010, a roster of judges made up of esteemed artists, instructors and curators awarded more than $30,000 in cash prizes and materials to artists who are outstanding in their field, (painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, computer generated work, ceramics, fibre, glass, jewellery, metal, printmaking, sculpture, watercolour, wood).

The 42 artists in this exhibition were selected from 400 exhibitors in the 2010 exhibition at Nathan Phillips Square.

Honourable Mention for Drawing at TOAE

July 16th, 2010

I am thrilled to have been awarded an Honourable Mention in Drawing at the 49th Annual Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. You can find a complete list of all the award winners here.

Dual (Senna), 2010

This year I exhibited a series of large-scale charcoal drawings on paper. This series, entitled “Dual” playfully contemplates ideas surrounding cohabitation and seeing ourselves mirrored in another through depictions of two-headed northern creatures. These drawings were additionally motivated by my recent relocation to Northern Ontario.

This was the view from my booth on Saturday. We had lots of visitors and the weather was great (except for the intense thunderstorm that passed through Saturday morning, luckily I was under the running track).

For those of you that didn’t get a chance to come, this is what my booth looked like on the right side.

And, this is my booth on the left side.

48th Annual Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition 2009

I will be exhibiting again this year at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition which takes place at Nathan Phillips Square (Toronto City Hall).
