I am thrilled to have been awarded an Honourable Mention in Drawing at the 49th Annual Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. You can find a complete list of all the award winners here.

Dual (Senna), 2010
This year I exhibited a series of large-scale charcoal drawings on paper. This series, entitled “Dual” playfully contemplates ideas surrounding cohabitation and seeing ourselves mirrored in another through depictions of two-headed northern creatures. These drawings were additionally motivated by my recent relocation to Northern Ontario.

Visitors at TOAE
This was the view from my booth on Saturday. We had lots of visitors and the weather was great (except for the intense thunderstorm that passed through Saturday morning, luckily I was under the running track).

For those of you that didn’t get a chance to come, this is what my booth looked like on the right side.

And, this is my booth on the left side.

I will be exhibiting again this year at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition which takes place at Nathan Phillips Square (Toronto City Hall). It runs Friday July 10th to Sunday July 12, rain or shine and with or without a city garbage strike. My booth is Yellow 695, located on the West side of the square under the running track.
The Outdoor Show is a great way to spend a beautiful summer day in Toronto. There will be more than 500 exhibiting artists and you’ll be able to find all kinds of exceptional work, from jewelery to ceramics, to sculpture, painting, printmaking, and of course drawing!
Come wander around and look. Admission is free.
